Based on the law issued on April 11, 2013, foreigners who own real estate in Turkey can obtain a residence permit for one or two years. Moreover, in the event that they do not sell the land, they have the right to renew the residence.

Furthermore, according to Article 42 of the same law, a foreigner who has a residence permit for 8 consecutive years has the right to apply for permanent residency.

 

Does a foreigner obtain Turkish citizenship when buying land in Turkey?

Of course, foreigners can apply for Turkish citizenship through buying a property worth 400.000$, regardless of whether that property is home, office, commercial or land. Provided that it is not sold for 3 years.
