What to do if you lost your residence permit card in Turkey?

Obtain a lost property report from the police station:

Go to the nearest police station as soon as possible. At the police station, you need to report the loss of a residence permit (ikamet). There they will prepare and give you a record of lost property (kayıp eşya tutanağı).

It is worth noting that it takes about half an hour to get the lost property report.

Pay the new card’s fee on the Tax Department:

As you get the lost property report from the police officer, you should pay the new card fee and the application fee on the Tax Department.

The staff of the Directorate General of Migration Management will tell you how much you should pay for your application. It is worth noting that the tax office accepts only Turkish Lira in cash.

Visit the Immigration Management:

After you obtain the lost property report from the police station and pay the new card fee, you should visit the Immigration Management with the required documents for the lost residence permit card new application.

It is worth noting that you do not need to make an appointment in advance, just come with the above documents.

When your replacement residence permit application is approved, and your new card is printed, the immigration office will send it to you via registered mail.

Thus, you will be given a temporary document with which you can leave the country without fines and without the need to obtain an entry visa.
