  • The duration of your residence in Turkey must exceed 6 months.
  • That the person responsible for hiring you should be a Turkish person or a Turkish company.
  • In the event that the company applying for the permit for its employees is foreign, it must meet the following conditions:
  1. The company’s capital is not less than 100 thousand Turkish liras
  2. For every 5 Turkish employees, there must be one foreign employee.
  3. The company has to pay all taxes.
  4. The company must also pay all social insurance.

Moreover, foreigners can obtain a permit through establishing a company according to the following conditions:

  • To have a tourist residence.
  • Depositing the capital in a Turkish bank.
  • Paying his own taxes and insurances.

Obtaining a work permit in Türkiye for foreigners under temporary protection:

For holders of a temporary protection card, special laws have been set, which are:

  • Foreigners with a temporary protection document cannot work without a permit or exemption.
  • Foreigners can work in the agricultural sector or livestock breeding by obtaining a work permit exemption form from the Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment Agency. However, they are not entitled to work in another sector without a work permit.
  • To obtain a permit, at least six months of the temporary protection period must have been completed as of the date of the permit application.
  • Another important point is that the permit given to foreigners under temporary protection does not replace the residence permit.
  • Furthermore, the wage to be paid to the foreigner must be at least the minimum wage.
  • A foreigner is not entitled to apply for a permit in a new place with another valid one.
  • In addition, the percentage of foreigners is not allowed to exceed 10% of the number of Turkish employees.

 

Work permit for residents abroad:

According to Article 7 of the International Labor Law, a foreigner who wants to obtain a work permit from abroad must apply for a work visa at the Consulate or Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the country where he/she currently resides and must give the 16-digit reference number he/she gets to his/her employer in Turkey. the required documents are:

  1. Passport.
  2. Application for a work visa.
  3. Personal Photos.
  4. A copy of the employment contract in Türkiye.

The fees for obtaining a work permit in Turkey are related to the cost of each document or paper that is certified and translated. In addition to the value of taxes and insurance fees determined by the Social Security Department in Turkey, which may reach 3,000 Turkish liras.
