Mobile veterinary clinic in Istanbul:
Many street animals in Istanbul have received treatment from a team of veterinarians, surgeons and technicians, thanks to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB)’s new project to boost care and treatment of stray animals in all 39 districts through mobile veterinary clinics.
The project named “Vetbus” currently consists of two buses converted to clinics. One of the buses operates on the European side in Istanbul and the other on the Asian side, both providing health screening, immunizations, parasite treatments and microchipping.
The cat village in Kırıkkale, Türkiye:
The village, sprawling in an area of 6,458 square feet, is entirely made of recycled material. It primarily hosts cats with disabilities, pregnant cats and kittens. The shelter is also among the best pet adoption centers in Türkiye.
The village was awarded in a contest by the Turkish Union of Municipalities for new ideas for the care of stray animals and was a recipient of a prize of $27,835 (TL 500,000), which they used for the improvement of the shelter.
In one year, some 175 kittens were born in the shelter. It also performed surgeries on 50 cats found injured.
The cat town in Samsun, Türkiye:
Kedi Kasabası, literally “cat town” in Turkish, is among Turkey’s rarest, most spacious and most exclusive shelters and pet adoption centers in Türkiye.
The town, covering an area of 20 acres, is run by the municipality. Furtehrmore, it ensures everything for the comfort of the animals, from classical music accompanying food to playgrounds. Moreover, there is a “cat cafe” and courses where the felines can jump, climb and get into mischief.
In addition, the shelter has vets who tend to every need of the felines throughout the day.
Stray pet center in Malatya, Türkiye:
The largest shelter for pets and strays in Turkey has been established within the state of Malatya. It extends over an area of 128 dunums.
The Stray Pet Center in the Turkish state of Malatya provides health care services for stray dogs and cats.
Furthermore, it includes 7 separate units. Moreover, it contains rooms for operations and special care, in addition to quarantine places, and a scabies treatment unit. It is worth noting that all units and areas of the center equipped with heating systems in the winter season.
